The image on the left is in higher-resolution JPEG format, while the image on the right is a standard GIF picture. Even at this size and higher resolution, can you really tell the difference between the two types? The JPEG file at the higher resolution is about one-fourth the size of the standard GIF.

This site is optimized for a screen size of 1024 x 768 pixels because my standardized photos look better (yes, it's worth adjusting your settings.)
