Not far from the town of San Pedro, that is, not far by Atacama standards, is the Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon.) It's a true lunarscape.
Clockwise from the closest photo on the right, imagine yourself looking from west to east in the valley. You can see the sun set, and the full moon rise. If you see the pattern, you'll end with the three bottom photos, moving clockwise.
This site is optimized for a screen size of 1024 x 768 pixels for a couple of reasons: first, the standardized photos look better; second, that old 800x600 size is soooo 20th century...(yes, it's worth adjusting your settings.)
