The iconic Sydney Opera House was completed in 1973, after an eventful planning and development process. The Danish architect, Jorn Utzon, created a design in 1957 that had to depend on future advances in construction techniques and materials, as his vision was ahead of its technological time. Construction started in 1959, and proceeded fitfully until completion in 1973. Construction delays and cost overruns forced the architect to resign from the project long before its completion. It is today the busiest performing arts center in the world, as it actually houses a complex of theaters and halls.

I hope to re-take this shot, as well as the rest of Australia, with better film and equipment. My digital shots were lost in a computer crash, maddeningly.
